  • What I've been doing lately.....

Here are some pictures of what I have been up to lately.  These are all taken up by Edmonton(actually a town Edson to be exact).

We also did some kitchen renovations at a golf course restaurant for a few days.

One Satureday we went up to a place where they go hunting quite a bit to look around,  and we found wolf tracks!  This one was huge as you can see, but the rest weren't quite so big.

We trailed them for about an hour and came across a deer kill from the day before.
All that was left was the hide and two bones, they really cleaned it up!!

Then on the way home I got this,  it's a Ruger 10/22 semi-auto, so I got a 25-shot clip for it,  it tends to go through quite a bit of ammo,  come gopher season it'll be put to very good use!!

    Scrollsaw and Christmas

Here's a post finally, been putting off doing one for a while.

Lots has happened since the last post I did:  Breanne and Jared' s wedding, Weekend in the Word are the main ones.  I took a break from the job I was doing (roofing and siding) for the winter, but for the past three weeks I have been working up North by Edmonton working for a framer, then I'll go back their for the month of January and maybe longer after that, who knows.    In October me and Drew bought a very nice Excalibur Scroll Saw, so in my free time I have been scrolling away.  I even took a few pictures:

It came with a table to bolt it to which makes a very stable platform.

It has a 30-inch neck which is very nice for bigger projects, it also came with a foot pedal but we don't use that much.
I've cut quite a bit but so far my two favorites are:

    The Tiger Face

I realized after I finished that somehow I messed up the right eye, next time I pay special attention to that!

    The Thunderbird

It's simple but looks cool(least I think so).

    And now for Christmas:

I got two books which I wanted alot:

This lists every single AKC recongnized breed with: breed standards, original purpose, pictures. Yeah it's pretty cool.

Then the other one, I like scrolling animals the most, which is why I like this book so much.

When I get back from up North I'll most likely post another.

    So for now,
     auf wiedersen.

    Slo-Pitch Tournament 2008

Here are some pictures from the Slo-Pitch Tournament we had on Saturday.

The Badgers at bat, going for second base.

Breanne was the Badgers score keeper, you can't see it in the picture but on every one of those pieces of paper she's holding she wrote some things like Mr. and Mrs. J. Mosher,  I think that kinda of stuff is on her mind alot, she 's getting married in 25 days, time flies.

Dad just connected very solidly, he does that alot :)

    M
rs.Collin was one of the Badgers pitchers, did a very good job!

    Caleigh and Luke.

    Here's a Badgers team picture.
Back row: Charissa Fehr, Caleigh Funston, Reid Wilke, Joel Jost, Tim Fehr, Luke Collin
Front row: Avery Collin, Craig Funston, Breanne Funston, Drew Funston, Corinne Collin

And here's a Gophers team picture(this team was slapped togather at the last minute at the tournament, and we didn't pick the name, kind of ironic because the other team names were Badger, Coyote and Rattlers, which all three eat gophers,  we came in fourth place)

Back row:  Layne Funston, Josh Weiner, Shayne Hounsome, Ben Dyck, Jeremiah Roby, John Peters
Front row: Holly Davidson, Sandy Davidson, Josh Jost, Joseph Jost, Emily Jost, Alisha Roby

I don't have any pictures of the Coyotes or Rattlers.  Next year is going to be a lot of fun, we're hopping for six full teams, so it'll be a blast.

    Questions About the 2010 Olympics

Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics,

people all over the world are asking questions. Believe it or not,

these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism

    Website.

    (Frightening, isn't it?)

Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow?(UK)
    A. We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and
    watch them die.

Q: Will I be able to see polar bears in the street? (USA)
A: Depends on how much you've been drinking.

Q: I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto--can I follow the Railroad
    tracks? (Sweden)
A: Sure, it's only four thousand miles. Take lots of water.

Q: Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Canada?(Sweden)
A: So it's true what they say about Swedes.

Q: It is imperative that I find the names and addresses of places to
contact for a stuffed beaver. (Italy)
A: Let's not touch this one.

Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Canada? Can you send me a list
of them in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Halifax? (UK)
A: What did your last slave die of?

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada? (USA)
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe.
Ca-na-da is that big country to your north...oh forget it. Sure, the
hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary.

Q: Which direction is north in Canada? (USA)
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here,
and we'll send the rest of the directions.

Q: Can I bring cutlery into Canada? (UK)
A: Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q: Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? (USA)
A: Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, which
is...oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday
night in Vancouver and in Calgary, straight after the hippo races.

Q: Do you have perfume in Canada? (Germany)
    A: No, WE don't stink.

Q: I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Canyou sell it in Canada? (USA)
A: Anywhere significant numbers of Americans gather.

Q: Can you tell me the regions in British Columbia where the femalepopulation is smaller than the male population?
    (Italy)
    A: Yes, gay nightclubs.

Q: Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada? (USA)
    A: Only at Thanksgiving.

Q: Are there supermarkets in Toronto and is milk available all yearround? (Germany)
A: No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is
    illegal.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada, but I forget its
name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)
A: It's called a moose. It is tall and very violent, eating the brains
of anyone walking close to it. You can scare it off by spraying
yourself with human urine before you go out walking.

Q: Will I be able to speak English most places I go? (USA)
A: Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

    Deja vu all over again...

Today we went to Waterton Provincial Park, a family day trip.  On the way in Breanne and Caleigh were remarking how much it reminded them of going to Jasper during the Summit, it reminded me of it too.  Anyway a little while after they said it, we were driving and we saw a bunch of vehicles pulled over, usually that means something of interest so we drove by and saw a this here.   Right away we thought of when we were driving in Jasper and we saw the bear with Mr. Pierpont.  Anyway  I guess my point is that I was reminded once again of God's Love for me  (oh by the way if this story doesn't mean anything to then check out Jared's blog.)

Oh and another note, if you want/ need/ desire etc. any kittens we just had six more just recently from our kitten machine, here are some pictures.  Oh and they're free!!!!
